The Team

The knowledge behind every programme you do here.

Anjali Sareen

Co-founder  ·  Pilates Pioneer  ·  Master Trainer and Educator

Anjali has been in the fitness and movement field since 1993.

What makes her approach distinctive is the breadth and depth of disciplines she has studied, taught, and applied across nearly 35 years — fitness, Pilates, rehabilitation, martial arts, yoga, dance, and strength and conditioning. She has worked with populations ranging from children and seniors to elite athletes, pregnant women, post-surgical cases, and individuals with special needs.
That breadth is what makes her programming precise.

She knows how the body responds differently across ages, conditions, and goals — and designs accordingly.

Her focus is on integrated, functional fitness programming: customised sessions calibrated for each individual — from general fitness to special populations to elite performance.

Her programmes range from standalone Pilates workouts to sessions combining Pilates with TRX, free weights, and bodyweight training. This is also the methodology behind the H.I.C.C. programme, and the approach that runs through every Zone client's experience.

As an educator, Anjali is India's original Pilates master trainer. She introduced and taught Stott Pilates teacher training programmes across the country, and continues to run The Zone's certification programmes for movement and fitness professionals, physiotherapists, and career changers.

Students from across India and internationally have trained under her — many going on to establish their own studios.

“I’m always learning - with every client, every student I work with. Every day.”

- Anjali Sareen

Sharat Sareen

Co-founder  ·  Industry Pioneer  ·  Consultant and Mentor

Sharat's contribution to The Zone - and to the fitness industry in India — runs alongside Anjali's, shaped by a different and equally rare set of expertise.

His expertise lies in an area few in the industry match: an unparalleled understanding of fitness equipment and training systems, built over three decades of deep engagement with both the technical and commercial dimensions of the field.

He and Anjali were together responsible for introducing India's first computerised personal tracking system on strength and cardiovascular equipment, and for pioneering Pilates in India — both as a fitness and rehabilitation discipline and as a field of formal education.

Today, Sharat is the sole distributor in India for Elina Pilates, a premium Spanish equipment brand — an extension of The Zone's long-standing role at the forefront of the industry. His consultancy practice works with fitness studios, gyms, and clubs across the country on equipment selection, studio set-up, and training systems. He is a sought-after mentor for Pilates studio owners and fitness professionals building their practices.

What distinguishes him from others in the equipment and consultancy space is that he is also an experienced Pilates instructor himself. That grounding — in how the equipment is actually used, how a programme is built, what a client needs — gives his guidance a precision and credibility that purely commercial expertise cannot.

“Relevance of training method and consistency are key to an individual's wellbeing.”

— Sharat Sareen

The Zone Instructors

Trained and mentored by Anjali Sareen

Every instructor at The Zone goes through a comprehensive training and mentorship programme — a year — before taking on a client independently. This is not onboarding. Every instructor earns their place on the studio floor.

Guided by Anjali Sareen's expertise, they are trained across the full range of programmes The Zone offers. Ongoing education and direct involvement in The Zone's teacher training courses ensure that learning never plateaus.

The result is a team that can genuinely customise — not adapt a template, but build a programme from scratch around the person in front of them.

And they bring something that cannot be written into a programme: a consistent, infectious energy that makes showing up something you look forward to.

“Of course, any form of exercise is only as good as the instructors — and getting standardised training is one of the best things about The Zone. The instructors go through rigorous training and it shows in their work — the skill level and consistency."
