Pilates at The Zone

The different Pilates programs focus on fitness, rehabilitation, sports performance, prenatal and postpartum women, and more.

All sessions are done on

  • Pilates machines: Reformers, Cadillac/Trapeze, Stability Chair, Tower, Ladder Barrel

  • Small equipment: jump-boards, fitness circles, foam rollers, rotational disks, stability cushions, mat and more.


The Zone headed by Anjali and Sharat Sareen, introduced India’s first fully-equipped Pilates studio.

Pilates Teacher Training education, in India, was also pioneered by Anjali Sareen. She is the original Master Trainer for Pilates education in the country.

  • Pilates is often described as a body-conditioning method created by a man for men - one simply has to look at Joseph Pilates, the creator of this method, who used it to build and maintain a body, into his 80s, defining fitness, strength and vitality. Pilates is thought of as an exercise program meant primarily for women.

  • In a more contemporary context the popularity of Pilates with male athletes, sportspersons, performers (actors and dancers), and high-level achievers, on a professional world-wide platform; is testament to how Pilates is not an exercise program meant primarily for women.


About Pilates

  • A mind-body conditioning method, Pilates was developed about 100 years ago by German-born, Joseph Pilates. He developed an entire range of equipment based on spring-resistance to correct postural, muscular imbalances.

  • The benefit of working on the machines is the ability to make adjustments to increase challenge or modify as needed. An advantage not possible when working with mat exercises.

  • The focus is on functional fitness by strengthening the core and the muscles around the major joints of the body.

  • Pilates is used by professional and recreational athletes and sports persons to improve performance and reduce risk of injuries.

  • As Pilates improves cardiovascular efficiency and endurance, joint-stability, control, balance and body-awareness; it is a popular program for those in martial arts, yoga, dance, sports, and outdoor activities.
